Child Safety

At Mt. Carmel, we always keep the safety of children in mind. Here are some things we have in place for protection.

  • Any adult working with children of any age must pass a background check.

  • Even after passing a background check, adults are rarely alone with the children.

  • At every service, the parent or guardian must come into the building to drop off their children (check them in.) Once the parent checks the child in, they will be given a pick up tag. The parent must come into the building and return the tag in order to pick up their child. Older siblings are not allowed to pick up younger siblings.

  • If you are staying at church, you will receive a pager when you bring your child into the nursery. This pager will call you if you are needed.

There is a form for you to fill out so your child can be registered into our check in system.

The form asks for the names, birthdates, phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, grade, medical conditions, allergies, trusted people who can pick up your child, and people who cannot pick up your child. We need this info for each child and for the parent or guardian as well. The bold text is what is absolutely necessary. When listing a phone number, please list one where we can reach you should there be an emergency.

We do apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. Whether the inconvenience is from the paperwork, coming into the building to drop off and pick up, or by not allowing older siblings to pick up younger siblings, please be assured it is only for the safety and protection of your children.
