Lessons

Congratulations on starting this video journey with your family through the world’s most important book – the Bible! When I launched VeggieTales® nearly 20 years ago, my goal was simply to bring the values of the Bible to life for kids in a fun new way. More than 50 million videos later, I think that effort succeeded. But the success of VeggieTales® has led me to an even bigger goal—to bring the ENTIRE Bible to life for families, from Genesis to Revelation. Biblical illiteracy is a huge problem in the church today as far too many kids are growing up without a clear understanding of their own faith. The What’s in the Bible? video series is an effort to provide kids a foundational knowledge of the Bible and of their faith that can launch them on a lifelong walk with God—a journey that will change them and change the world around them.

VeggieTales is a popular CGI children’s animation and media franchise enjoyed for its talking, singing vegetables and its entertaining storytelling and silly songs.  The franchise is distinguished as the most successful Christian children’s franchise of all time. VeggieTalesoriginated as a direct to video series and has grown to producing related products/media in books, music, television, live shows and two feature films: Jonah:  A VeggieTales Movie (2002) and The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything (2008). VeggieTales launched an original Emmy nominated series on Netflix in 2014 and is releasing 26 all new episodes 2020 – 2022.

Raising a Christian Family

God's Word has something to say on every subject, but sometimes in the heat of that "teachable moment," we forget where to find a helpful verse about anger, forgiveness, or humility! Featuring topically arranged Scriptures on 101 topics, Durbin's handy guide provides relevant passages plus discussion questions, action recommendations, and helpful teaching tips for parents and older siblings.

The Christian Family cultivates your family's relationship with Jesus by first teaching the Divine Order in the home - the order and authority between different members of the family. Then, it shows how to practice the presence of Jesus in the home by increasing awareness of His way and will for the family.

Seeds creates Scripture memory songs for kids by setting verses from the Bible to music. We have a library of 187 songs and  274 videos written to word-for-word Scripture that makes memorizing the Bible easy and fun. Our songs are written for kids but also made to be enjoyed by all members of the family.

This video by a fellow Christian homeschooler and literal rocket scientist explains simply why we, as parents, should watch what we allow in our homes to come into our children's minds and hearts. We are to filter everything through the Word of God and that includes what they read, what they watch, where they go, how they act, what they say, and yes even who they hang out with.

Boundless is an award-winning ministry of Focus on the Family with the goal of helping young adults grow up, own their faith, date with purpose and prepare for marriage and family. Through articles, a group blog, a weekly podcast and the power of community, we challenge 20- and 30-somethings to reject society’s low expectations and live biblically and intentionally in all things, including relationships.

This is a fabulous program designed for ages 8-12 but children younger and even older (my hand is raised) will enjoy this radio broadcast. This series captures children's imaginations and supports Christian values. They also offer books in this series and have another series called the Imagination Station. There is so much value in Adventures in Odyssey from Focus on the Family.

What a wonderful organization and a blessing to the world! Focus on the Family does just that focuses on the family. They are on the radio daily talking about current topics, talking with authors, taking calls from people just like you and me. They even offer counseling. They write very helpful articles about marriage, child raising in all aspects. They have created the Plugged In, which reviews movies and shows from a Christian perspective. They created Adventures in Odyssey, which is simply fabulous! They have created so much more. I HIGHLY encourage you to check them out. There is too much to list here.

This is an inspiring, encouraging, and strengthening read. It is an easy read that covers the prayers of 25 people ranging in the historical timeline from 69 AD to 1945 AD. Each of these people, through their Christian faith and prayers, changed history.

In Prayers That Changed History, the stories of twenty-five notable people are presented along with how prayer changed their lives and changed history. Following each historical example is a biblical story that ties to that person’s life and actions, as well as ways you can use the power of prayer in your life as well. Because God isn’t done changing the world yet, and he would love to use you to make history.

While I cannot vouch for each book written by Lee Strobel, I do recommend Case for Christ. This book was originally written as an adult read, but it is also available for kids. The movie is wonderful too.

Lee's personal story to salvation is very interesting. Learn more about his story here: https://www.lifeway.com/en/articles/the-case-for-grace-lee-strobel-story

While I can't vouch for every book written by Natasha, I do recommend Talking With Your Kids about God -30 Conversations Every Christian Parent MUST Have.

Elizabeth has written dozens of books. While I personally can't vouch for every one of them, I do recommend A Young Woman's Guide to Discovering Her Bible and A Young Woman After God's Own Heart. Please note, these books are offered for boys as well as girls and women.
